City of La Grande Recognizes OTEC for Tree Trimming Efforts
La Grande, OR – April 13, 2010 – The City of La Grande’s Community Landscape and Forestry Commission recognized Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative (OTEC) for its “efforts to remove conflict trees near power transmission lines and replace them with utility friendly trees.”
Mayor Colleen Johnson presented Dave Baum, President of the OTEC Board and La Grande resident, with a Community Forestry Partner Award at the April 7, 2010, Arbor Day Ceremony.

In accepting the award, Dave Baum thanked the City for this recognition. “We work to ensure OTEC has a safe and reliable system,” said Baum. “Part of this effort involves our very effective tree trimming program.”
Baum also thanked the membership for their understanding of the need for the program.
