Ballots Mailed for OTECC Board of Director Election
Baker City, OR – April 10, 2009 – Nearly 22,000 election ballots were mailed on Friday, April 10, to all Oregon Trail Electric Consumers Cooperative (OTECC) members.
Three candidates are running for three OTECC directors’ positions. There are no by-law resolutions listed on the ballot this year. In Baker County, incumbent Ralph Ward runs unopposed for position number 5. In Grant County, incumbent Gary Miller runs unopposed for position number 6. In Union County, incumbent Grant Holman runs unopposed for position number 4.
Results of the election will be announced during OTECC’s annual meeting on May 9th. An independent election committee will count votes.
Each OTECC director serves a 3-year term on the board. There are no positions open for election in Harney County this year. All members who are registered may vote in this election regardless of where they reside within OTECC’s service territory.
The annual meeting will be held at the Harney County Memorial Building in Burns, Oregon, on Saturday, May 9, 2009. Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the business meeting at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will be served at approximately 12:30 p.m.
OTECC is a non-profit and member-owned utility. Member participation is encouraged and is a vital element of a strong, locally owned cooperative.
