Residential Conservation Programs
Enjoy the rewards of energy efficiency. This list of utility incentives is updated throughout the year; however, utility incentive programs can change at any time.

Showerhead Program
OTEC currently does not offer low-flow showerheads to members - but encourages members whose water is heated with an
electric water heater to use them. Low-flow showerheads can reduce your home water consumption
and water heating costs by as much as 50%. A low-flow showerhead is designed to
deliver fewer gallons of water per minute but with the same pressure as a
traditional showerhead.
Heat Pump Program
OTEC offers rebates for heat pumps installed by a participating heating contractor. The rebate is $500 for air source systems and $1,000 for geothermal systems. OTEC also offers a rebate for mini-split ductless heat pumps. Rebates range from $500 - $1500. Contact OTEC for a list of participating contractors.
Water Heater Program
OTEC offers a $100 credit to the electric bill of a consumer who installs an electric water heater to following efficiency ratings:
1. 50-54 gallon with a .94 efficiency rating or higher.
2. 55-74 gallon with a .93 efficiency rating or higher.
3. 75-99 gallon with a .92 efficiency rating or higher.
ENERGY STAR® Appliance Program
OTEC offers a credit on your electric account for appliances that meet ENERGY STAR® Compliance. ENERGY STAR® qualified appliances are manufactured with advanced technologies that use 10 to 50 percent less energy than standard models. The rebates are as follows:
- Clothes Washer
For a clothes washer that is served by an electric water heater the member will receive a rebate between depending on the modified energy factor, the water factor and the type of water heater you have.

ENERGY STAR® Manufactured Home Program
OTEC offers a $1,150 rebate towards manufactured homes that are constructed to the National Energy Efficiency Manufactured (NEEM) home standards, also known as the ENERGY STAR® Manufactured Home Program. Manufactured homes installed after January 1, 2007 are entitled to receive this rebate.
Weatherization Program
The Weatherization Program provides minimal funding for weatherization projects for single, multi-family or manufactured homes. The rebates are up to $400. The home must be located within OTEC’s service territory and be electrically heated. The heating source must be capable of heating the entire home - this is calculated to determine eligibility.
Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Program
A $500 rebate is available to members for installing one kW (1,000 watts) of PV-generation per year.
